It was an eerie sound, something that would have most wolves peeking over their shoulders with thoughts that someone was following them. For Zapz, it just made her placid features crinkle into a gleaming grin. You could say that she knew something was following- a small giggle chimed from her vocals, "Come now... hiding in the shadows? So many years; so many years..." She spoke nonsense to the open air, glazed auburn eyes proof that she was indeed miles away from where she was in body. The ebony fae weaved her way through the bushes, paws pushing into the gleaming snow that had made it's way to the floor of the thickly covered forest. The cold numbed the base pads, made them tingle and beg her to discontinue her quest and lick them back into warmth. She didn't pity her paws, didn't pity herself for that matter. Another giggle loosed from her lungs like an arrow from a bow, "Oh my precious... My precious, be flowing my precious!" She reached the edge of the purple creek and sniffed at it's covered surface. A soft coo left the canine's lips, "Oh dear, we have a problem don't we? You see, I asked so nicely for you to be flowing... but you've wronged me so." It was a rather alluring sound, one that could almost convince you she was disappointed but that she would do no harm.
But, quick as a blink her features changed. The lower lid of her left eye twitched radically, her mental state had flipped. Her snout twisted into a snarl, pulling her lips from her fangs as she reared up and slammed up paws down upon the ice to break a small hole. The thin layer of ice cracked, smashing through and soaking her forelegs. Her voice came out rather sadistic, "Try my patience again careless creek and it shall be your end." Her features returned to a sense of normalcy as yet another giggle pulled it's way up through her throat. "Oh look! You flow in such a small place, but your love for me is evident. Bless you sweet creek, you've made me very happy." She lowered her head and began to lap at the frigid water. Her throat screamed in surprise as did her stomach, a shiver ran down her spine making her let out a soft peeling squeal of delight. She shook her pelt and raised her muzzle, droplets of water falling from her chin in a final attempt to run from the deranged femme. There is a rush one can get, when the nerve endings are firing, one that could send some into a playful gag and others into a tightly wound ball.
For Zapz, it did the former. Thirst quenched she jumped to the side as if another wolf were trying to bite playfully at her shoulder. Snow flew up into the air as she scattered it, diving her nose under and tossing it into the air. Her mood was deceiving, for soon she was chasing after some imaginary canine that had done wrong in this solitary game. Lips raised again in the toothy smile she chased this illusion until she became distracted by a scent that led up into her nose. The Rho slowed, muscles freezing- forcing joints to take the full extent of the stop. Her bones complained, but she paid no heed to the burning- her nostrils were busy pulling in the scent like a selfish child with candy. Her legs trembled, body stiff before she seemingly went limp and darted off after this perfume, bright curiosity pulled her features right 'round as she followed the invisible rope- leading her like a fish on a line to it's producer.

Running across the path that used to be blanketed in leaves, but what was now covered with the white powdery frozen water, the ebony brute steadied his breathing as he slowed to a walk. Emerald eyes scanned his surroundings, auds twitched as the noises from everywhere caught their attention, muscles rippled underneath his pelt as he took each step. Denali continued following the path he had been traveling since early this morning, leaving his tracks along the path with no worries of another catching his scent. The path finally collided with a small creek, the water was frozen. The brute lightly pawed at the normally watery path, curious as to why it was standing still, and not in motion like it normally had been. Finally he let it be and leaped over it, to continue his adventure. His paws were normally ebony, though right now they had an ivory covering from the snow that covered everywhere he looked, as he noticed his pads, he began licking them clean. *snap* Denali heard the breaking of a stick in the distance, his auds twitched toward the sound, his mind ran wild wondering what, or who, it could be. Could it be another of his kind? Or could it be just a little critter trying to escape from being devoured?

Zapz slowed, pupils seemingly to dilate as she cast her hues about to search for the invisible thread of scent. This time, sight and smell came together as she spied the tracks of another wolf. A giggle trickled from her agape jaws as she moved to stand over the tracks. Hovering over them like a mother does it's pups she pressed her nose into the prints, "Oh dear me, oh dear me! A friend? A foe?" Her frame straightened out, bringing her head back up, "I suppose we should investigate!" She plowed on through the tracks, covering them with her own numb paws. The fae began humming a tune as she went along, her head shifting from side to side as she danced over the snow. The wind kicked up, pushing at her chest with a sudden fury like it wanted to push her over, or onto some new path. Ignorance passed over her features as her tune ended abruptly, nose turning down as she charged on through the wind.
The air kicked up snowflakes, and for an instant she became distracted, snapping at the white fluff as it flew up and cast about. The distraction lasted only a few minutes before she was back on track and following the paws of the other wolf. She finally registered the scent and matched the face to Denali- one of the new Rho males in the pack. She doubted he'd even been greeted by any of the other wolves- not like there were all that many. The alpha had fallen and so far, the pack was to much down the rabbit hole to find their way back to function. It didn't matter, Zapz had it on her mind to take the rank of Queen; how funny it would be to see her face if she were to take the throne right out from under her. She giggled at the thought of the one wolf who truly hated her.
Her coat caught on a branch, the dead timber snapping right off at the sudden pressure. She stopped and stared at the limb for a moment before she heard something move in the snow ahead of her. Looking ahead she caught glimpse of the ebony male, a grin turned up her features. As if she were already crowned she loped over to the male, head held high and tail flagged like a banner. She snuffed his scruff lightly, addressing him as her pack mate in the fluid motion of touch. "Denali correct?" She might be slightly crazy, but, she did have some control over her mind. Zapz just had her triggers, ones that were odd and easy to upset, but she still had control...

Denali watched as the Femme lightly bounded over to him and snuffed at his scruff, he smiled slightly showing his white k-9's. "Correct, and you are Zapz I'm guessing?" He looked hopeful as he guessed that this stunning femme, his packmate, was the Wonderful Ms. Zapz he had heard about. He lightly bumped into her, sniffing her pelt as to remember her scent. He smiled as her perfume filled his lungs, her scent was rather sweet, one of a kind. His Emerald eyes caught her Auburn hues, catching her glancing into his eyes, he looked the other way, not knowing how to react to her looking into his eyes. He had heard that when someone looks into your eyes, and when you allow them to, they are searching into your past, to find a history behind you. Denali had never been able to figure out his past, it was always a blur to him as he would try to remember, though he would not risk another finding out his past before him. All he could think about was what if it was a horrid, grusome past? He shot her another grin, knowing that she was his pack mate made him feel privilidged to have such a beautiful femme in his pack.

Zapz watched the male carefully, tail wavering back and forth over her hips as he smiled at her. Her own grin softened somewhat, turning into a more acceptable smile. Her paw raised, striking out at his pelt, but missing the fringes of his ebony pelt. She nodded shrewdly, "Yupp, that's me!"" She shifted away from him, auburn hues dancing over his own before he shifted his gaze away. Her shoulders shrugged lightly as she shoved her paw out towards his ear, hoping to smack it playfully. "So what've you been up to? Finding you're way around?" She wondered about who he was, simply for the fact that even though she knew his name and scent- she didn't know him. Of course, if one wanted to be on top, she'd have to know his strengths and weaknesses, so she could extort both in order to help herself. Did I mention she held control over her mental state?
Her eye twitched slightly, switching her mind out of stability and she suddenly snapped at the young Rho, "Why won't you look at me? Do you fear the fire that licks the edges of my eyes?" She huffed lightly, her paw striking out at him once more, only more aggressive than playful. She waited, wondering what retort he'd give back to her. Her ears strained for the sound, but wavered as the wind pushed at her- like it was telling her to calm down and think, to return to the normalcy of a wolven mind. Another huff left her lungs, "I'm hungry- are you?" Her tongue lashed out, covering her ebony nose for a split second before retreating back into her mouth, once more her voice was as it had been when she'd first greeted the male. Proof that she'd returned to a more leveled attitude.
