Seebu narrowed his eyes against the overpowering wind and curled his lip ito a snarl as he almost lost his footing. He was at the top of these gorgeous Minro hills. His mouth was shaped into a solemn line, however.
Hunger battered at his belly, but he ignored it. He laid his ears flat on his head and lowered his body to the ground, as to avoid the gusty winds. They swept over his fur and tickled his paws, though Seebu was oblivious to such things. He was thinking about his pangs of hunger and the pangs of hunger others must have. Soon enough, his golden eyes began to quiver with emotion. His 'kindness' was very irritating at some times, but that was how he was. That hardy fellow was... kind. He was protective over others and loved most everyone until they gave him a reason not to love them. It was how he was.
But I don't want to be that way! he thought, gritting his teeth. He didn't want to be a sensitive little male! Seebu would have to be tough and hard-hearted if he ever wanted to become a true Delta. He would have to be a fighter....
"It's difficult," he growled to himself.

The cold winds blew at my heart and truly chilled it. My long, dark brown fur swished around me in frenzy. Even though it was a few hard weeks until the edge of spring, the earth was still bitter cold. It seemed as if winter was dooming the world of the shadows, and all of my pack, Colcannon. Like a lightning bolt, I remembered my pack. I knew that I should be confined in the snowy camp, but I needed to get away from my pack members. They could be so annoying at times. I sighed, then numbly padded forward on frozen paws, rock-coloured pelt glistening with unmelted snowflakes. I quickly shook them off and glared up at the sky with an iron glare, a quiet snarl ripping through my chest. I narrowed my deep brown eyes, sighed once more, then carried on, continuing to gaze down at the snow encrusted grass.
As I padded along, I realized that I was entering another part of my territory- the white hills. Instead of being beige, they were pure white from earlier snowfall. I cautiously sniffed the air, and scented my pack, of course, and prey. I didn't hunt because I didn't like killing. I heard my stomach grumble at the thought of sinking my teeth into warm, juicy flesh, savoring each lush chew, taking each delicious bite with happiness, eye closing in delight, taking another mouth full- Stop! I told myself with a furious shake of my big head. I snuffled at the breeze once more and realized that there was a scent from Colcannon that was very fresh. Delighted, I tore at the ground with quick paw steps, making up the ground so that I could see who this was. It surely was a Colcannon member, but I didn't recognize the scent.
I approached the white hills with a quick, graceful lope, sniffing the still air now and again so that I could follow the smell of the strange member. Perhaps it was just a kerl, and the scents were just getting to my head, or maybe it was a member of my pack and I was just being quite silly by not knowing it was someone. Perhaps it was my beta finding some prey for me? I skidded to an erupt stop, stirring up snow and making it fly into the air. I open my jaws and tasted the air. I still didn't know who it was. Frustrated, I growled lightly under my breath and ran after the scent until it started making me go uphill. I slowed down a bit and looked up at a mountain-like hill that was extremely tall. It could be a mountain if it had a pointed peak.
Cocking an eyebrow, I used my lean yet plump body to skid over the smooth rocks and follow the scent that loomed in my nostrils. Ahead I saw an unmoving, dark lump staying still. It looked like a faint figure of a wolf laying down on a ragged, large boulder. My tail whipped into the air, telling the canine that whoever it was that I was boss. I opened my jaws and realized that this was a wolf, and that it was a wolf. I crawled over to it and nudged him gently, tilting my head in confusion. "Er, hello. What are you doing out in this weather, Mister?" I sat down next to him, inviting myself to a friendly chat. I kindly stared down at the greyish coloured wolf, noticing that his fur wasn't quite as long as mine. Was it possible that this canine could freeze?

"Er, hello. What are you doing out in this weather, Mister?"
Seebu nearly leaped out of his hide in great surprise and he whipped around, amber eyes glaring at who he saw before them. Though, something about her scent and her posture made his eyes narrow to tiny slits that were no wider than hairs. Is she..? he began to think, but then he immediately stooped down into a submissive position, whether or not this female was the pack drappa or not. It was something about her air of confidence or leadership that made him be reverant; if this was the case or not, Seebu did not care. He would bow.
Feeling that it was necessary, Seebu flashed his whites in great apology for acting so... rude to the drappa. His ears were laid back as so that he could go further down; he did not even bother to wrap himself up in his tail as to be warm. He merely was sliding on to ground into the lowest position he could hardly get.
Seeing it being impolite to not reply to her question, Seebu opened his mouth ever so slightly to speak. "I'm not sure; I just felt like leaving for a while to rest or be alone. But of course, you are welcome to stay."
Seebu shifted a bit, uncomfortable for his unmannerly position; but he held it until a grant would come from the perceived-to-be drappa.

A smile spread across my brownish black maw in amusement. My stubby, ebony whiskers twitched in delight of seeing someone that was in my pack. I have never met this handsome, brindled wolf with golden-amber pools, but his scent that hunt around his thick pelt was one of Colcannon. He must have been the new wolf that my beta female, Nadyn, mentioned to be a few days before. I grinned thoughtfully to the newest delta of Colcannon. It was nice to know that my pack was growing with each moon that passed. I tilted my fluffy, bulky head to the right and perked my folded ears in intense interest.
When I saw him lower his delicate grey body to the smooth rock, I nearly cried. I whimpered pitifully. Someone finally has showed himself worthy of a mate, but then he lowered himself to the ground in complete submission. But I wasn't discouraged all of the way. I wagged my bushy tail happily, then nodded to him. "No need for that boy, I see the respect shining deep within your depths. Fix your posture if you will." I smiled even bigger. This wolf had spirit, even though he was a bit too submissive for my liking, but I knew he was just showing his position to me- if he even knew who I was. Shaking the thought out of my head with a quick shake of my walrus-sized body, I quickly took in his words, sucking them in as if my life depended on it.
My eyes glittered with joy. "Of course I'll stay with you. You'll need warmth, of course, sir." I gently wrapped my broom-like tail around my paws and continued, "I'm called Bernese, Drappa of Colcannon, if you were wondering." I paused thoughtfully, thinking for a few heartbeats before I added calmly. "What are you named? And are you a member of Colcannon that my trusty beta was talking about?" Although my voice was kind, there was sternness in it, as if I wanted to know as soon as possible. I never demanding things usually, but for some odd reason I did, probably because I was afraid that this wolf could turn on me and attempt to murder me. I shivered at the thought, but held my posture and thick brown gaze at the amber-eyed wolf.

Seebu blinked, startled at the female's words. He hadn't expected to be released from the grip of submission so soon; most wolves enjoyed it. Alas, this wolf did not like it, so Seebu stood up and stretched, eying the brownish-black female curiously.
She was quite beautiful, being large and muscular. In fact, her tail did sweep around him to keep him warm. Truly magnificent... a real Colcannon, I must say, Seebu thought, staring at the warm depths of the female's eyes.
Her next words somewhat startled him, though a smile spread across is maw and Seebu nodded. "I thought so; it's not surprising. You are very muscular and perfect for being a drappa."
The continuing speech that Bernese had was even more baffling, however. "What are you named? And are you a member of Colcannon that my trusty beta was talking about?"
Seebu smiled. He wasn't she if he had me the beta yet, but perhaps it was. How could he know? "Well..." he began. "I don't know. But, maybe. Oh, and my name is Seebu... Bernese, what a great name."
The timber wolf shook his fur up, ridding it of the frost that had gathered on the tips of his guardhairs. His twitched his cold nose and shivered. Bernese was correct; his fur was not nearly as thick as the drappa's, and he was bound to freeze in this weather. As Seebu recalled it, he didn't know how he survived before in the colder winter months! Well, I surived, and that's all that matters.
